;Chlordecone, which is generally represented as a ketone(chemical formula C10Cl10O), is known to be in equilibrium with its hydrate form C10Cl10O2H2, bearing a gem-diol function. Indeed, several reports even claim that stable CLD exists exclusively under this hydrate form. In the light of new results (notably from mass spectrometry), we re-investigated the refinement of our structure with the hydrate form of chlordecone.
